Photop Suwtech Inc, an ISO9001:2008 certified company, started its business in DPSS laser design and manufacturing from 1997 in Shanghai, China, under former company name “Shanghai Uniwave Technology Co. Ltd”. Over the 13-year history, Photop Suwtech grew quickly from a small laser lab to one of the main laser manufacturers in the photonics market, especially after the mergence into Photop Technologies, Inc. in 2003, a leading photonics designer and integrated manufacturing company on Fiber Optics, Precision Optics, Projection and Display Optics, DPSS Laser, Crystal Materials, and other Photonics Products. On January 4, 2010, Photop joined II-VI Incorporated, a US public company traded on the NASDAQ under the stock symbol IIVI.

There are around 200 employees working at Photop Suwtech in two different facilities. The facility in Shanghai plays the roles of Administration, R&D, Sales & Marketing and Customer Service; the other facility located in Fuzhou went into operation in the early of 2006 as production base.
